Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC)
Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with BRICS of Commerce and Industry for promoting trade and investments between BRICS countries and eastern part of India, in particular.
Some Information about BCC :
BCC was initially established in 1900 as the “Marwari Chamber of Commerce” at Calcutta. Following Indian Independence, in 1949 Chamber re-christened itself as Bharat Chamber Commerce.

It is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia the holiest city for Muslims.
Hajj 2019: will begin in the evening of 9 August and ends in the evening of 14 August 2019.
This year, a total of 2 lakh Indian pilgrims are expected to travel for Haj to Saudi Arabia.
Out of this 1.4 lakh pilgrims are traveling through government arm HCI (Haj Committee of India) and remaining through private Haj operators.

PLAN BEE won the Best Innovation
Northeast Frontier Railways’ (NFR) PLAN BEE won the Best Innovation Award on 9 July. It has adopted a unique strategy to keep wild elephants away from train tracks.
The project aims to save the lives of the elephants by installing devices at several level crossings in the state to play the sound of buzzing honey bees to drive away the elephants.
